What is the best video card right now, money not being an object, PCIe, mainly will be playing q3 engine games, so i obviously need a nVidia, i was looking at the 6800u oc, and didn't know if they made it in PCIe or what, and i would be air cooling so i didn't know if that would be the best possibility either, any opinions on personal experiences or reviews you have read elsewhere?

A 6800 Ultra is top of the line for Nvidia actually 2 6800 Ultra's are the best and and the soon to be released X850XTPE is the best for ATI.
Right now no 6800 Ultra's are out for PCI-E but will be in about a month.

Basically the card that you can buy today that is the fastest is either the x800xtpe or the 6800u. Both cards in and lose at some benchmarks. Both have air cooling. As far as which manufacturer, it really doesnt vary too much. Some offer long warrenties like bfg, and other people overclock like the 6800uoc that u mentioned above. It all just depends on your preference, but no bigger, more well known vendor is really a "bad" vendor to choose.

If you are also looking to purchase a motherboard, an sli setup of 2 6800u's is faster then any single card solution. In order to do this though, you need specific motherboards that can take two x16 cards and run them in sli.

You may have a problem finding the x800xtpe or maybe even the 6800u. They were both in short supply, but the 6800u seems to have increased somewhat in supply to where it is more common then the x800xtpe to find, even though both cards are still in short supply.

i really wish i could go with nvidia and the SLi solution, but i already have a mobo on the way with a great deal i got, another question i have is about PCIe, i've read that there is no performance gain, then i gotta ask, why go with it? the mobo i have needs a PCIe card, so im not complaining about it or anything, just wondering, and thanks for informing me about the 6800's being PCIe in about a month

To have a better upgrade path for teh future and SLI are really the only reasons
