A few things to consider, please.

I'd appreciate a few changes at anandtech - I realize not everyone would like these though. So consider the changes and decide if they will be helpful for the majority of the users.

1) When going from the main page to the community page, I'd rather NOT have a new screen open.
2) There are too many posts in the general hardware forum. It would clear things up if you had a separate monitors and printers section. I know these could go into the peripherals section, but it seems that most people avoid posting there (who knows why). If all monitor questions and all printer questions were in the same location, we would get better answers.
3) I'd like an increase in the default posts shown per page. Yes I have customized, but I don't like to have to login everytime (especially when I just want to browse and not post). I cannot stay logged in on shared computers. Maybe change it from 20 to 25 or 30. A few hundred would be ideal for me, but I've heard others complain that they wouldn't like quite that much. Even on a slow modem loading ten 20 post pages takes as long as loading two 100 post pages (so download time isn't much of an issue for many of us).
4) I usually browse with a 22" screen. It would be of great help if the post stats (number, original poster, last post time) were located to the left of the post title instead of all the way to the right (the spacing is quite annoying on screens 19" and larger, but there is no issue with 15" or 17" screens).
5) This isn't a forum issue, but why don't the 'weekly' pricing guides always come out weekly? If you can only produce them twice a month, then don't label them 'weekly'.

Edit: I forgot number 6) On long topic threads with lots of posts, I can click on page 1, page 2, or the last page from the main category page. It would be nice to be able to click directly to all pages...

That stuff might eventually be considered, but I doubt they'll make any of your suggested changes. If they tried to tailor the forums to each individual's desire, there'd be a big mess. The best they can do is possibly make it a bit more cutomizable, to give users more options.

dullard,

I'm sure that Zuni will give your suggestions all of the consideration that they merit.

Azraele, I agree that no site can tailor itself to everyones desires. I just thought these would be simple, cheap, and quick ways to make the site better for everyone.

Everyone should agree with topics 5 and 6. I've seen many people mention topic 2. Topic 4 would require a small change (which some may not like) but it should improve everyone's experience here. Topics 1 and 3 would take the most to get used to, and careful consideration should be given to these since the majority may not like them.

I don't care if they never follow my suggestions. But I'd still like to make some concerns public for discussion. If even one change is made, I'll certainly be happier.

#5 makes sense.
#6 is a decent idea aand it's probably worth doing.

The rest I don't particularly care for and I'm definitely against #1.
