Can using 2 different brand HD's in the same computer cause problems?

What is the best large and affordable storage drive to go with a 74GB raptor (80-160 GB)?

If you are going to partition your HD into two sections: windows and the rest, how big should the windows partition be, and is that where video card drivers, etc should be installed?

Do Kingwin and Lian-Li cases have good powersupplies or should I just go with an Antec Sonata or 1080?

What is the best PC3200 RAM for an affordable price, Mushkin Level One? Kingston HyperX OCZ? Corsair XMS?

I'm semi-strapped for cash, is it worth the extra $ to go from an AMD 64 3000+ to 3200+? I noticed the 3200+ has more L2 Cache.

That about wraps it up, i'll add more as I think of em 🙂

1. sometimes yes......mostly no.... Problems were mostly a few years ago, today it's rare.

2. Any of the larger drives from WD or Maxtor can be found fairly cheap if you read the Sunday Circulars for Best Buy, and local Office supply chains....

3. I'll let others answer the PSU/case thing - too much of an opinionated topic.... I don't subscribe to all the hype of fancy looking/light up, 550watt supplies being needed. In most "mainstream" user PC's I think 350w name brand plain looking pSU's are more than sufficient. Maybe someone can give you their personal experiences....

4. I've had great luck and value with Kingston HyperX

5. I'm not a cutting edge AMD boy so I'm not answering this last one. 🙂 Cheers.

Almost never. A Hot Deal forum post on a 160 GB. Newegg also has Samsung 160 GBs cheap, it's probably worth paying $10 extra for a drive from newegg with a 3-year warranty instead of a retail drive with 1-year.

Read the AnandTech 3000+ review and decide for yourself

Then get the Sonata since it has a known good power supply instead of a no-name

There is no one right answer. I usually install games into a different partition, but install Office, drivers, etc. to C:. FYI my C: drive currently has 15 GB out of its 30 GB total in use.
