so i think my server is having some power issues and it is a LITTLE hot...but not too bad...
here is the setup:
case: Text
case adon: Text
CPU heatsink: Spire SP420B8-2 70mm Ball CPU Cooling Fan (apparently discontinue, it was a POS $10 hsf)
p4 2.8c
abit ic7max2 (the northbridge fan is pretty much dead...any ideas on replacement?
1.5gb pc3200 ram
15krpm SCSI
6x misx IDE/SATA drive...ranging from 80gb-320gb
1 ide DVD-RW
5x case fans, 80mm-120mm
geforece mx440 vid card AGP
temps:
cpu: 132oF
case: 82oF
PWM (wtf is this anyways? lol) : 96oF
these are all idle temps...they dont go up too much when under load...
so...my questions:
what could i do to reduce the temps...obviously some better cable management, but i'm specificly wanting the lower the CPU temp, it seems a bit high...i was thinking new HSF but dont know whats good...also, i'm going to be throwing in some more HDDs in a little white, so maybe some new fans could help blow the heat away?
second:
power...ive got a 530w enermax PSU in it...it seems to be doing the job...but i think it could use some more power...what PSU is good for a server with a lot of HDDs?
thanks! 😀
