first how do dividers work..ie.

i have a kh7 abit mobo. non raid. it list a default of 4:2:1 but also has 5:2:1
if i go above 144fsb my systems goes down. thats with the 4:2:1. since i dont understand the other (5:2:1) i havent messed with it.

i have an xp1800 palo. atm. best i can get is1600mhz.

plz help me out.

it's the PCI bus/AGP bus/Processor bus.

So, it's like this:

133/66/33 for 4:2:1, (your processor's FSB is the 133)

and

166/66/33 for 5:2:1, (your processor's FSB is the 166)

unless that chip is unlocked, it is unlikely you will get high enough on the FSB to utilize the 5.2.1 divider. You also need some pretty good ram to get up there. At 144mhz fsb, your pci/agp is only 36/72, which is usually do-able. 11.5 x 144 = 1656, and I have seen a few 1800's that would not go much higher anyway. Tell us about your ram, locked/unlocked, etc.
