Did Enron in fact receive a ~$250M tax cut check?

The dispute on Kerry's "# of bills passed" - Bush says 5, Kerry says 56 - I'm assuming that the 5 are ones ONLY written by Kerry, where the other 51 are written by Kerry and at least one other person - can anyone confirm this?

So is Bush saying that of the '300' he wrote - he wrote those all by himself? And if Kerry is saying he's had 56 passed, is that still out of 300 total, or is that total much higher if you include bills that others have contributed to? Something isn't right in these numbers.

Is there a list of all 300 bills he "authored", or of the 56 that have been passed?

Did anyone see the DNC chairman ask Sean Hannity "please don't touch me" last night? Very funny! Hannity was acting like the drunk guy at the bar who thinks he knows everything - could not be more annoying!

Kerry wrote 56 bills that passed through the House and Senate, but were NOT signed into Law.

Factcheck.org: "As for the claim that Bush supported "giving Enron huge new tax breaks," it's true that Bush supported repeal of the corporate alternative minimum tax in 2002 as part of an economic stimulus package, and that Enron led a group of corporations pushing for repeal. But the really big breaks for Enron were not proposed by Bush; they were added by Republican House Ways and Means chairman Bill Thomas, who proposed letting corporations redeem AMT credits built up over many years. That would have given $254 million to Enron, and also would have aided several other large corporations. But the whole bill died when the Senate refused to consider it."

Misle answered the other question. 56 of Kerry's sponsered bills have passed the senate - that is about all a senator can do. I don't know if Misle is correct or not about those 56 passing the house. johnkerry.com: "At least 56 bills and resolutions John Kerry has sponsored over the years have passed the U.S. Senate."

You are quite welcome. The facts are out there. I have strong political feelings, but when I post here I attempt to only post the facts. If everyone did so the P&N forum would be such a great place to visit.
