A few questions about Sony KDL46V2500

I found the following reviews on Amazon and have a few questions:

"My only complaint was that the TV will not accept anything better than 1080i through the component inputs, which astounds me. I could find nothing that would have indicated this to me prior to my purchase. First generation XBox 360 users should take note of this. I've changed my 360 out for a later model with HDMI (great reason for an upgrade!), so no problems now and I'm rockin' 1080p content."

My EVGA Geforce card says it supports HDTV. The box says it has a 9 pin HDTV connector. I don't know what that is. That's component (YPbPr) right? Will I able to get 1080p for my computer?

"The V2500 series uses the same exact LCD panel as the XBR series. Justifying the price hike between the V 2500 and the XBR units is a matter of personal preference aesthetically. Performance-wise, the units are nearly identical"

So is it XBR or not? If it doesn't have XBR, how can this guy say that the units are the same in performance?

Performance-wise, the units are nearly identical

Well there are many factors besides having the same LCD panel to qualify performance. For instance he says that he can't get 1080p through his components. Maybe with the XBR you can. This is do to using different compression/codecs or some other means to display the components @ 1080p (not sure of the exact specs on that TV).

There may be extra inputs and outputs, a motion blur of some sort, color effects technology and plenty of other things that could change performance. The best thing to do if you are planning to buy soon is to go look at them both. If you have an xbox360 you want to play, take it with you and see which you like better or if there is no difference to your eye.

I plan to buy an LCD on Friday actually (40" Samsung LNT4061F). I does indeed accept 1080p signals through component cables. I have an older xbox360 and I don't want to have to buy a new one.

Edit: I need to add that if you have a computer you want to connect you simply need to have an HDMI to DVI cable. That will send 1080p if your unspecified card can handle it of course. Also, if you have an HD/Blu-ray player in your computer and you plan to watch movies from your computer, remember that your graphics card needs to be HDCP compliant. That is a certain encryption that must be sent through the cable in order to view it on your HDTV.
