A few questions about replacing promedia 2.1 drivers

I've been wanting to do this for a while but didn't know if it would make enough of a difference to be worth it. But now that PE is having some sales on 3" drivers I figured I may as well give it a shot.

First, I'm pretty sure the Klipsch are 4-ohm. Should I only look for 4-ohm replacements or would 8 be ok? I know almost nothing when it comes to this.

Are there certain speakers/freq ranges/other specs that would sound terrible with the crossover?

I already know a better sounding desktop solution can be built for ~150. Just looking for help with the above.

Thanks.

That will depend. Are you still running them out of the sub/stock amp? If so, I'd say go with the same as the stock drivers, as it could cause some problems with the amp and driving them. If you do go with a different amp then it'll depend on the specs of the amp (4-ohm and 8-ohm aren't a problem for most receivers/integrateds, but not sure about say something like a T-amp or some of the digital and DIY amps).

Yeah, it's the stock Klipsch amp. Just wanted a quick, cheap replacement since the stock drivers aren't sounding that great anymore.
