Windows XP Professional SP2
1024 (512*2) DDR333 Samsung
XFX 6600GT 8X AGP
300w Antec TP-II PSU
80GB Western Digital 2MB
ASUS P4SDX (crap imo) motherboard

now my order off Zipzoomfly is on it's way tommorow...

AMD Athlon X2 3800+ AM2
Windows Vista Home Premium (50GB)
Windows XP Professional SP2 (15GB)
2048 (1024x2) DDR2-667 Corsair
XFX 6600GTagp
80gb Western Digital
300w Antec PSU TP-II

Ok... now for my questions....

1: Will my PSU handle this setup upgrade?
2: If so, would this be concidered mid-range, and what games could I not run on atleast medium settings?
3: Will windows Vista run fine on my setup?? and how much will it reduce in performance.
4: Do I have to set my CPU to dual mode? or will the 2nd CPU kick in when needed? also how to I perform tasks where I can set them?
5: How can I safely over-clock my CPU/GPU without money?? and what would be good OC'ing temps/idle?

My preference would be a good bit larger P/S for this hardware.

I do NOT recommend overclocking anyway, anytime !!!

1: 300w is probably okay, but might be pushing it. When you're gaming or whatever you don't want your PSU to be at full load, or near it.

2:Your rig could be called LOW-end. You're cpu might be okay, when overclocked to 2.4ghz or so, but your videocard is rather slow. You're fine in the ram area, 2gb is plenty for XP, and a very good amount for Vista.

3:It will run fine, and probably will give a few less fps then in XP, but nothing to really worry about.

4:There are dualcore patches, from both microsoft and AMD, but you won't have to set your cpu to dual mode. As soon as you boot into windows it should recognize it as a dualcore cpu.

5: You can do a mild overclock on both your cpu/gpu with your stock cooling solutions. Temps for the cpu should be at 35-40idle, and 60 load. I personaly won't go over 60. I can't give figures for your gpu, I simply don't know.
