ok, someone told he i can refute charges w/ visa up to 6 months after the purchase? is this true? i ask becaue i was trolled back in may and i was too busy to call and refute then. another question: how likely is it for someone to succesfully refute the charges assuming they have good evidence? lastly, does anyone know the # to contact to refute a charge? thanx a lot

hmmm, don't know about visa since my visa is just a check card, and i use a discover card. i can tell you that with discover they will immediately issue temporary credit to your account. they will then ask you for any evidence (assuming that you have any with you or on your computer). regardless of whether you don't/can't provide any evidence discover conducts a 30-day investigation into the matter. they then send you a letter detailing the outcome and what not. o btw, usually the number to call is on the back of your card. ;)

the problem is that it is a visa credit card issued thru bank of america so when i call the # on the back, i get BofA. anyway, can charges be refuted with these trade type things?

The only time you would contact VISA directly is if you were taking advantage of VISA benefits which this is not.

You need to contact your VISA issuing financial institution which in your case is Bank of America.

Unfortunately I think you've waited way to long, look on the back of your monthly statement it should say how long you have to file a dispute. I believe it's 30 or 60 days from the date your statement was printed which was about 4 or 5 months ago.
