Took a trip up to Washington Park in Portland on Friday where we have the International Rose Test Garden. You could see why Portland is called the City of Roses because they were in full bloom, with all the colors and varieties you could imagine. Anyway, I took a few pics with my new Fuji S5000 (which I am still learning to use, so please ignore the poor technique) and I thought I'd post 'em.
View from the park (little hazy so you can't see Mt. Hood too well)
Red rose
Lamp post
Pink rose & buds
The most interesting photo, though, turned out to be one that was way underexposed.
I took a macro of a pink rose which turned out too dark. However, I messed around with the contrast & brightness using The Gimp, and it came out pretty interesting.
Here is a full-res version of the edited pic. 🙂
Edit: few more @ full res...
Yellow rose w/pink edges
Pink rose & bud in foreground (sky is overexposed, though)
Red rose
Pink rose, unedited
