It started out as a nice day.. although the forecast high was only 55F. The clouds rolled in and with 15-20mph winds the wind chill was much much lower. It is the first airshow I have been to in about 8 years. Most of the shots were done with the Canon 70-300 IS lens with the exception of the Mitchell bomber which was a tamron 28-75.

Mitchell Bomber. Too many people around to get a better shot.

Not a plane.. but could have taken off if they bolted some wings on.

The thing had about 2 minutes worth of fuel on board

Unfortunately, the only flying "warbirds" at the show.

Wing walker lady... who I know had to be freezing.

Wing walker again.

Hey, hey, hey... fat albert

Obligatory Blue Angels shots.

The Blue Angels was still a lot of the same show I remember from 8 years ago.. but still amazing to watch. Even more amazing was the precision in those windy conditions.

What kind of elevation where you at when taking those shots? The perspectives look like you were at the same altitude as the planes.... I'm assuming you were close to ground level, which means the Fat Albert must've been flying really freakin' low?

I was pretty much at ground level. I think the runway was maybe 10 feet different from where I was at. Fat Albert was pretty low. It was actually flying straight across in front of me...just with the wings banked. The wing walker shot was just doing a rollover toward the crowd.

EDIT and fixed the first wingwalker link.
