Due to a mishap with removing my old 3500+ newcastle core, (it came off with the heatsink and broke two pins)
I'm stuck going back down to 3000+(venice) i had sitting around. Luckily, this 3000+ has currently overclocked to 2.1ghz with no issues (well, at least no issues according to prime95 as of 8 hours or so), and it still runs incredibly cold compared to my previous processer (39c load compared to 42c idle)
I've heard that theres a defect with the Asus-A8n SLi deluxe involving the FSB not being able to get the memory speed above 245hrz or so?
I'm currently running my ram (OCz platinum revision 2) at 230hrz 2-3-3-7@1T, i'm sure i can tighten it up a little bit, but i'm checking for stability first.
HT at 4x, ram voltage at 2.7 and vcore at 1.5
I simply want to overclock my processer up to 2.2ghz stable or so, so i won't notice much difference considering the less powerful processer. What would be the best way to do this?
and what exactly is that bug?
(I know theres no way i can get it back up to 2.4ghz at 2-2-2-5@1T, so 2.2ghz is fine)
