Its been awhile since i last overclocked a chip (300A long time ago) so bear with me:

I was considering getting a XP 2500+ Barton chip which if im not mistaken runs 1.85Ghertz stock, now I've heard of ppl taking those to 2.3Ghertz with no problem. My questions are as such:

1) I have an Epox 8rda+ (nforce 2) mobo and I heard that it can unlock XP CPU multipliers w/o any physical modification is this true? If not then where can i find the procedure for this?

2) I have some good pc2700 DDR ram and I really dont want to chuck it just for this processor, how high can i put the multiplier (assuming its unlocked) on the epox board (i think that the default uses a 11x multiplier or there abouts)

I was also considering getting a 2400+ (@266) would that be a better choice with my memory?

ITs been awhile since i was in the game but I find myself broke again so I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck, thanks for your help....

1) All controlled via the bios, no need to mod the chip

2) Well, the Barton has a FSB of 333, so assuming your PC2700 really is PC2700, you'll be fine. How much you'll be able to overclock the FSB depends on the chip, memory and motherboard, so YMMV. But if you don't bother to raise the FSB, you can increase just the multiplier, and it will not effect the memory speed at all.
