1) Who actually manufactures notebooks? I know Voodoo sells Arima notebooks, and I assume Dell makes their own, but who else is there who makes them? And specifically which of those manufacturers have Athlon 64 models?

2) What Athlon64 retailers offer the most customizability in their notebooks? (I've come across a few notebook makers that let you order one without a hard drive, for example)

3) What's the deal with the upgradeable graphics I read about in the new Dell XPS system. What makers actually sell notebooks like that, and is there any special model name to look for to get that feature? And are any other makers going to be introducing that soon?

4) Are Athlon 64 notebooks going to make the jump to socket 939, or will they remain exclusively socket 754?

Ok... so that?s more like a lot of questions. And sorry if these have been discussed in other forums, I just never know exactly what to search for.</SPAN>

Well lets take one thing at a time. *ell makes almost none of what they sell. Their lappys are no diff. There are many companys on the web that let you customize ur lappy.
Here are a Few:

My Bang for Buck Champ
Hyperdata
Xtremenotebooks
Cyber System
VooDoo PC
I Buy Power
HP shopping

Just to name a few as for who makes what and all. I know that the iBuyPower Battalion-101, and the VodooPC Envy M:855. Are both based on the Mitac 8355 setup. As for upgradeabl graphics i havn't read much on it and just to walk back in ur questions a bit all the companys above make AMD 64 processors lappys.

AMD64notebooks.com is a good place to look about AMD 64 Lappys and who uses what bases

We started a big thread about Athlon 64 laptops by manufacturer and vendor here.... And I think the work of all the people involved has made it the most accurate so far
