A few Lenovo T61 questions

I'll get to the point, any input is greatly appreciated:

1. Does adding after market memory void the warranty? (Sounds like no.)

2. How do I tell them I want Vista 64-bit installed instead of 32-bit? (I have 64-bit media, but I thought the license was tied to the first bit-type it was installed on (?))

3. Is the ultrabay battery worth it?

4. 14.1" or 15.4"? (I know this is largely preference, and I'm leaning toward the 15.4", just wondering if there was any compelling reason to choose one over the other. Getting upgraded screen either way.)

5. Does anyone know when the back to school sale ends?

6. Any other tips/advice/buy X instead?

Thanks all 🙂

1. No

2. Pretty sure Lenovo is only selling their machines with 32-bit at the moment. You say you have 64-bit media but do you have the product key? If so just reformat when you get it with your 64-bit disc and that key

3. Do you need a lot more battery life? If so it might be worth it

4. As you said, a personal preference. 14" would be a little lighter and of course smaller but the 15" would have a larger and higher resolution screen (if you get the best one)

5. Don't know that one, sorry

6. I would recommend the T61 as it is a very good business/school laptop but if you are having any doubts check out the Dell D630/D830

Thanks for the info OSx86. I'm very happy with my current D600, so I was definitely considering the D630, but everyone raves about the Lenovo's so I figured I'd try one out.
