a failed memory slot? ever happen to you?

i had an old motherboard with 3 Dimm slots and the second one just stop working all of the sudden. it doesn't create any major problem since I plan to upgrade anyways. just wanna see if this is a common thing or not.

Recently I had an Abit NF7 that would not operate with the 3rd Slot nore enable Dual Channel. Used it for a year and when I upgraded I, RMA's the Mob ...Also I've read where some Mob's will not operate with all banks filled, although this is not your Case, just keep on trukin and plan for the future

Had an early P4 mobo with 3 slots. After a couple of months, one slot died.
Had to RMA the board, which is still running fine.
