Hey everyone.
Currently, all of our printers are connected to one of two print servers. We're exploring the idea of getting rid of those and replacing them with some boxes running W2K Advanced Server and NLB. In testing, I have two machines up and running with network load balancing, I have the printers shared, and everything works fine. The issue is that in testing, I've connected to the virtual IP of the NLB machines. We don't want to have to tell our users "Yeah, connect to 192.168.x.x to set up your printer." Obviously it would be easier for them to use a name like PRINT01 or whatever we decide to call it.
Now here's the problem: I can't browse or run to the boxes by using their name. Like I said, everything works fine using the IP, which is 192.168.59.107, and I can run to it, ping it, etc... I setup the name 'nlbtest' in the AD DNS, and I can even ping nlbtest, which does resolve to 192.168.59.107. If I try to connect, ie. Start - Run - \\nlbtest , to the name I get the error "A duplicate name exists on the network."
Any ideas on how to resolve this?
Thanks,
Tom
