LOL grounds for instant termination on my job.
Would prob just be a Month no pay,and then random drug/alcohol tests for a year.

hahaha, i think i will be all right. it was one of those deals where for 10 dollars, you can get a pint of beer and a cheeseburger. those kind of deal are all over where i worked, so people there have to be drinking during lunch or something? i dont know.

i can't see why a company would give a sh!t about you having a pint over lunch, thats your own business (obviously different if you are driving heavy machinery/flying a plane/any job which requires a .000 BAC legally)wouldn't even put you over the limit to drive anyway...

or am i missing something here?

Yeah, the contract you signed when you took the job.

I've never done it at my job, but i'm almost 99.99% sure my boss here wouldn't care. Probably one of the reasons why i'm still at this job, even though i'm way underpaid (people and environment are good... what other job can i game and answer the phone once in awhile... yesterday i was answering the phone once every 2 hrs)

is it a common part of a contract (never had a contracted job, still a student/casual farm labourer)?

All jobs requires signing a contract... usually things that stipulate break hours and company policies.

I'd be seriously fvcked if I did that. I'm actually not allowed to drink 24 hours before work. But, I don't drink so it's really not a problem for me.

That sort of thing is very commonplace and not forbidden at all over in Europe, I hear.

I've had a drink with my lunch during work before. I agree with the sensation. It's pleasant, I enjoyed the rest of my day, and my productivity was equal to or greater than normal. What's not to like?!?!?!

24 hours?! Most PDs aren't like that, are they?

I wish that at my job there was mandatory drug tests for every employee, not just us
people with CDL's.

Do drugs get fired,YEAH BAby! Sounds fair to me!:D

Because of having a CDL;a dwai is .02,and DWi for a CDL is .04.instead of .08.........

If I go to a party,and people start smoking weed I leave;
my luck the next day at work I would have a random drug test!:(

I can't get away with that where I work.

I've done it before though at other jobs, usually with my boss, and it is nice.
