A dog that sleeps like humans. [well kind of]

weird. i've worked in vet clinics for years, and haven't once seen a dog sleep like that, that wasn't gassed out and hogtied so we could operate.

Hmm. My dog has slept on his back for years. Just not all the time.

Yeah I don't doubt that it happens, I just haven't seen it, and I've seen a lot of dogs. I have seen several cats do it, usually the fat ones.

Yeah I don't doubt that it happens, I just haven't seen it, and I've seen a lot of dogs. I have seen several cats do it, usually the fat ones.

He also runs in his sleep or has a such deep sleep that he will whine and shake very loudly. I have to wake him up sometimes because he's over there going nuts. His eyes will be rolled back in his head and his eyelids will be fluttering like mad.
 
My squirrel used to sleep just like that. Sometimes right on my chest with the coves pulled up to her neck. She slept on her back in the hammock in her cage too.

Most of them do that under anesthesia also. I always think they're dreaming of chasing rabbits.
