Granted a Predator with a good pilot can out fly a 29 anyday, but still how demoralizing is it not to be able to even get a drone?

What would really be funny is to pull a trick like the F-4 drivers did in Vietnam when the 105's were getting pounced on their bomb runs. Make them think it is a single Predator and have it really be a F-15 or 16. Surprise!

The stupidity amazes me. It's like a chicken running around after it's head is cut off. These Iraqi's are too stupid to realize that So-damn-insane (Saddam H.) is just that. I just can't believe that they still follow him right down the toilet. I realize the culture is way different than ours (or most others) but damn....COMMON SENSE IS STILL COMMON SENSE WHEREVER YOU GO....Right?!?!

For some reason it is funny just imagining Iraqi planes shooting at those predator drones and thinking that they may be hot $hit for shooting one down.

That is totally dumb, we should send thousands of them flying over Iraq haha that would scare the crap outta them, and they would probably waste all of their crappy missiles on them...... Idiots

Those drones are very hard to shoot down with a jet since they are extremely small and move very slowly. By the time you spot one with your eye balls for a cannon shot, you're going to run into it.

I believe an Iraqi jet pilot would be just as, if not just the same level of ability as a USAF, or an RAF, or an RAAF fighter pilot. Sure they dont have as many planes, but there not gonna just send some idiot with a turban into the skys now, are they?

Are you joking?

During the Gulf War in 1991, the Iraqi Air Force was one of the largerst and most modernized. It had the best of French and Russian fighters/bombers, yet only managed to shoot down only one F/A-18. The allies control the airspace over Iraq on the first hour of the bombing campaign.

Not even close. Their training, and resulting skill level, is a joke compared to the USAF or RAF. Look at the kill ratios during the Gulf War to get a taste for that, and keep in mind that they were flying over familiar terrain, whereas the Americans were not.

I am positive that Iraqi pilots have neither the initial training or continual flight hours, refresher training, air to air, air to ground, and other training that US pilots have. No matter how modern or well equipped an Air Force is, and Iraqs during the Gulf War was relatively well equipped, if your pilots are basically training to only take of, fly in straight lines and then land all in good weather...well you can see the problem. The training of our armed forces combined with our superior command and control systems is the primary advantage of the US. No one else even comes close. Anyone who has been in the armed forces knows that what you do is train, train, train some more, and then do maintenance, then you train some more. BTW: in this instance, a high speed Jet Aircraft may indeed have a difficult time engaging something as small and slow as a Predator with cannons especially if the interceptors did not want to stick around and make multiple passes. Predators are relatively vulnerable to ground AAA and missiles though, many have been shot down over the years.
