If you would fight a government (say: an invading country or a tyrannical home government) to protect your rights, why would you not fight an individual criminal to protect your rights?

How many rights need to be taken away from you before you stop thinking it's better to not risk fighting back?

Many people hold the position that you should never fight back against a criminal. Still others say you should never fight back unless your life is in eminent danger. And still others say you should never fight back to protect your property rights.

I'd do all of the above, and more.
