Airport, aircraft carrier . . . hell why don't we rename the District of Columbia?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Congressional Republicans are pushing a bill to honor former President Reagan by putting his profile on the dime.
Why do we pay these people?

And in an unusual argument, Souder said "it is particularly fitting to honor the Freedom president on this particular piece of coinage" because he was "wounded under the left arm by a bullet that had ricocheted and flattened to the size of a dime."
Damn . . . that's lame.

I wondered when this would get posted. I figured DM would post it sooner or later - seems you beat him to it.:p

BTW - I like your renaming DC idea. You think it'd lower crime?;)

At least this is harmless. Would you rather they be out gerrymandering another state or two, holding 30-hour fillibusters on fillibustering judicial nominees, and legislation like the prescription drug bill?

I'd rather see Clinton than Reagan.

Good God how soon people forget.

Just keep FDR.

I'm pretty sure the current law states that a living person can't be shown on U.S. currency. Since Reagan is in his late 80s or maybe his 90s and probably soon to go, he's a much more reasonable proposition for consideration than Clinton. If he does croak however, by all means, put him on the dime.

who's on your dime right now?

FDR

The irony of this whole thing is that Reagan was an FDR Democrat at one time:p FDR was one of the biggest "heros" of Reagan although I think some of his political thinking changed along the way;)

I feel exactly the opposite! I don't want any part of money with Reagan on it. He was a disaster as a President as well as Governor of California.

That's probably why Republicans love him. It seems the sh!ttier you the more they love you. That's why Bush will be voted the greatest Republican president of all time. FDR leadership led this country on the road to becoming the ultimate world power IMO. You would have to combine Reagan, both the Bushs, a Ford squared and 3/4 of a Nixon to be half the president he was.

I think it would be more appropriate if his likeness was on a Wooden Nickel or a 3 Dollar bill!

REmember,

To Democrats, Nothing bad can ever be said about FDR. He is the Icon Of the Democratic Party.

The Same can be said about Republicans and Reagon.

Please stop the politica bickering repugs on this issue.

Lets stick to tradition and leave a president that served for 4 terms ( well 3 and some) pulled the nation out of the Depression ( If By anything else leadership) and saved Europe from Hitler.

Oh Yeah, And he did alot of work for the march of dimes for polio, Hence Why he is on the Dime.

Give Reagon the Golden Dollar.

They should make a new coin for Reagan. We can call it the "millenium" b/c that's how long it will take us to pay off Reagan era debt.

What's so wrong with FDR?

Other than being an idiot, not much. He and LBJ are the two worst presidents this country has ever seen.

I would expect nothing less from a person who "attended" U(sic)GA...
