A difference between the left and the right this morning (re: London attacks)

I was listening to the Hugh Hewitt show on the way into work this morning. He had a circle-jerk going on spouting off about appeasing terrorists and liberals are bad and Bush's ass must be kissed. It was disgusting listening to them.

Then I flip to NPR and they're on the phone with an eyewitness and discussing the rescue operations. They were actually offering up news and no partisan punditry.

I'll tell you what it's about. It's about the right-wing a-holes on radio and TV throwing blame to everybody else except themselves. I spit on these blood-sucking vampires. The right-wing bastards are the scourge of mankind and have done more to destroy this country than any terrorist organization ever could.

How about you say some prayers for those dead or suffering from wounds in London, how about NOT bringing politics in a day of sadness, how about honoring the dead.

But that doesnt matter, because I'm trying to figure out what I can do to help if in any way possible our neighbors across the pond, maybe you should consider the same.

What are you gonna say as a liberal against the war aimed at trying to stop the people conducting these attacks? That they got what was coming to them? Riiight. That this is a tragedy and the people responsible need to be brought to justice? :roll:

I was referring to the London thread.

And, how am I taking advantage of the tragedy today? I posted a summary of two different radio shows this morning to show the difference between how the right and the perceived left are treating today's tragedy.

But, it's nice to know ViperGTS thinks eyewitness interviews are "meaningless". I suppose he felt the same way on 9/11. :roll:

I can't stand TV news coverage for that very reason.

How many people do we really need to hear give their account?

And I heard this really loud bang and I saw a cloud of smoke...

99% of the eyewitnesses have absolutely nothing useful to add, if they did they should be talking to the cops not the TV stations.

It's useless filler for times when there's no good information.

I wonder what Air America is doing. That's a more fair comparison. I don't think NPR is really liberal, despite the widespread view that it is. They present facts and always have views from various angles.

Not really. I can't imagine them wanting to try and get into this market. They aren't that greatly funded. I doubt they'd get much in the way of ratings here anyway.

No, I've said the "perceived" left. We all know the Bush-God fanbois up here decry NPR as a liberal bastion, even though they're pretty even-handed.

Is it shocking that a news program is reporting the news, while an opinion/commentary program is giving an opinion and commentary on the situation?


This is a complete shot in the dark, but i think the financial shows are going to concentrate on the financial impact this will have.
