Hello all,
I was just wondering what is a decent video card in the under $75 dollar range. I am hoping to get one that has DVI,TV,out or s-video or something as well but I already know I am trying to go cheap to get all of the bells and whistles.
I've seen the Ti200 and the MX440 and stuff but have no clue which is decent. Let me know of any experiences you've had or a good card in this description.
PS- I like the cool looking ones that have cool fans like this
COOL PIC

Any Help appreciated
Thanks

Ti200 isn't bad for that price.. in the other thread I was just looking in, similar discussion, Radeon 9100 was mentioned. I'm not really sure exactly how they stack up for comparison, my gut feeling would have me thinking the Ti200 would be faster cause they can overclock great, but I am really not too sure..

i would think an overclocked ti200 would be slightly faster then the 9100, but the 9100 will rape the ti200 in image quality.

actually, unless you have a good monitor and good eyes most gefoce3's image quality is generally passable, especially at lower resolutions. personally i fit into the group of all of the above so i would probably go for a 9100, or an 8500 actually in the price range; but i think i am in the minority on that.

iirc

ti500 > 8500 > 8500le = ti200

or something like that, though ive heard in alot of cases the 200 will oc like a 500, and my own 8500le ocs like a retail 8500

im very happy with the 8500le for 70 US at newegg, good card

In spite of the general h8 of anything called gf4mx, mine is a GREAT card for the $54 (shipped). I just needed a card and had to spend the least possible at the time.

I got this Albatron gf4mx440sen (64mb ddr) from newegg.com. It's got 270gpu, 350ramdac, and they're now built with 4ns ram, so the memory bandwidth is actually 6.4gb, and not the 5.3gb posted (they were originally built with slower ram).

It's got SV out, and also includes an adaptor cable to rca.

My last card was a Radeon, and I did consider the 8500's and others (they went down in price slightly since then), and perhaps will get another Radeon someday, but I'm loving this nice cheap card for now :)

I'd say Radeon8500, 8500LE, 9100, Geforce3Ti200, Ti500 have similar performance. Between those, get whatever you can find for cheepest. It is probably worth noting that the 2D quality of the Radeon cards are better than that of the Geforce cards. Just don't get a GF4MX. It's performace can't even compare with the above mentioned cards.
