idk about different brands. I'd say it's a gamble. I had 2x1GB A-Data DDR800 Extreme Edition memory for 2 months work at 407Mhz 4-4-4-12. Then I added 2 more 1 GB sticks of A-DATA DDR800 regular, non-Extreme, memory (default at 400 is 5-5-5). Now I have all 4 Gigs work at 406Mhz 4-4-4-12 just fine. What brand is your memory? Does it currently work at 667 or 800? I would think that 667 is a safer bet to get them to work together. If it's 800 though... It's your call.

IMO this deal isn't that hot, since A-Data Extreme is not guaranteed to use Micron D9GMH in the 800MHz variants (many use Promos chips)...and 2GB kits of Crucial Ballistix are only $55 after rebates. Granted, the A-Datas don't have a rebate associated with them, but I'd take guaranteed D9GMH and a reliable crucial rebate to these any day.
