I've lost my boot drive and on bootups the memory count stalls at various spots but continues on after a warm reboot.

I'd like to replace it with something like a P4 3200 (what's the latest P4 these days, anyway?) But, if it only needs a new harddrive, I could install XP on another drive already in there and be back up and running this weekend (no time to work on it all week. 🙁 )

Did you follow any specific guide to get xp chips working in a dualie? I have a couple spare mobiles that are getting dusty &amp; wouldn't mind the extra power.

I just plopped them into my Tyan m/b and all was well. I did find out the Tyan needs registered RAM but that was easy enough to fix.


iwantanewcomputer, appears the Master Member and Master Elite titles have been rescinded...no word as to why.
 
Maybe this will help a bit: I just signed back in to S@H, after having quit earlier in the year when I had to re-load my computer. Currently I'm running two systems:

1. AMD A64/754 3000+ &amp; 512MB PC3200

2. AMD AXP 1600+ &amp; 512MB PC2100

Both of these will be cranking for a while I think, although the 1600+ system won't be around for that long - I've sold it to someone, and I'm just waiting for a replacement PSU to come in before they come to pick it up.
