A Credit Card question...

I signed up for a Chase Visa credit card around July 2006 for 0% for 12 months. I thought my 0% ended this July. I called the company and talked to the CSR, she said that my 0% ends on Novemeber 2007. Is this normal for a credit card company to offer a 0% APR for more than 12 months? I'm weary because I'm carrying a rather large sum on the card and don't want to get hit with the 8% or more APR.

thanks.

I have this card

I know I've seen various offers for up to 6, 12, and 18 months 0% APR. So if the offer started in May, you would have 18 months from May. So if you didn't sign up for the CC until August, you wouldn't get the full 18 months.

Regular purchases. I was thinking of transfering this balance to a new card if the 0% was ending in 2 months...but it seems like I might have a few extra months.

It depends on the card, 6/12/18months is fairly standard but they sometimes end on a certain date no matter when you signed up or don't start until you make your first purchase/balance transfer. And they sometimes move the date back if you call to cancel. Call again and confirm if you are worried.

I just called and double checked. It is until Novemeber. I asked the CSR and she said I did start the account in August and it's usually 0% for 12 months, but for some reason it's until Novemeber. She said I could fax in a statement if the 0% APR isn't the right date, I said nope, no thanks. 😀
