I went to the University of Wisconsin Madison campus today to talk with an academic advisor about my graduate work. While on campus, I went to check out the library and noticed that there seemed to be some large sections missing such as programming. Keep in mind that this library is (I think) ~12 floors and has automatic shelf storage systems(think inventory retrieval for books). Well come to find out, that was only one of many libraries. Its frigging nuts! There are a few dozen official libraries, but a total of about 120 libraries on campus. Every department has their own libraries. The Dept of Library and Information Science has (I tihnk) 4 libraries in itself.
Can any of the people there confirm the number of floors? It has some weird system like B-1-1M-2-2M-3-3M-4-4M-5-5M...
I also almost ran over a couple dozen people while trying to find a parking spot, sorry if any of you guys were one of them.
edit: pic of a similar electronic stack system
