A couple of simple XP Pro questions

Trying to decide what to put on a new machine - does XP Pro have the same activation thingy as XP Home?

And what are the differences between XP Pro and XP Home in a nutshell? Does an average power user need Pro
or is it really more for businesses??

Its geared for people who will run networks greater than 5 computers. It is also geared for people who know more about computers and the way the OS works. If you like to tinker, or at least know a bit about hardware control, then go with Pro. If you are looking for no frills, write your word doc, play a game once a day, then home will work fine.

XP Pro uses the same activation.

There are many differences but some are it supports multiple processors, has more system tools, and Remote Desktop.

XP Pro is same as Home Edition but it has advanced features like security. Games will work on Pro too but some old games may not work since Xp is not built on top of DOS, it's on top of NT line. You may want to dual 98se w/ XP in case if you want to play 16-bit games on 98se.
