I thought I would share a select few pics taken on my recent week-long vacation to Florida. I enjoyed myself, and have chosen a couple of pics out of the 250+ that I took to share with you guys. Be warned, I am not a professional photographer with high-end equipment, just a regular Canon A300. But, the pictures look pretty darned good :). All pics shown here are at 1600x1200.

56k'ers, if there are any of you left out there, these pics aren't for you.

The sunset at Clearwater Beach. This is definitely a wallpaper kinda pic if anyone wants a larger version. Of course, if 1600x1200 isn't big enough, I don't know what to tell ya :). I also have a few other pics of the sunset at different stages if anyone is interested.

A picture of the resort we (my gf and I) stayed at. The resort stretches around this small, man-made lake, and is absolutely gorgeous.

A picture of the grilling area at the resort. A nice place to grill, which seemed to go largely unused from what I saw. What a pity.

Some of the flora around the resort. The landscaping crew did a helluva job around the place, and I have plenty more pics as beautiful as this if anyone is interested in seeing them.

Cocoa Beach at it's finest. The waves were going pretty good, I would assume this is because of the riptides farther south.

Flamingos at SeaWorld. I thought it was a nice picture, so I included it :D.

My gf petting a dolphin. I also have other pictures of her feeding them. Definitely one of her highlights during the trip.

My gf and I at Universal Studios. And yes, the big ball is spinning, but of course, the pictures doesn't convey that :).

Hope you guys enjoy checking them out. Please, no criticing the pics, they aren't meant for contests or magazines.

Nice pics, thanks for posting. I haven't heard of the Canon a300, it seems like a very nice camera - what's the price range on that?

Ah! You should have let us know you were stopping by!

I live in the CFL area, I'm maybe 30 minutes away from Universal Studios, and maybe an hour away from that beach... we could have met up and had dinner or something.

Oh well :). Glad you had a great time, FL is a great place.

The A300. I paid $199 for it at CompUSA last summer, so I'd imagine it's lower now. But it has no optical zoom, so it's kinda pointless. It's a nice camera, but the lack of optical zoom sucks. With it being my first digicam, I was kind of ignorant about the whole thing. :)
