A couple of newbie WinXP questions!

As a new user of XP, I have several questions for your experienced people:

1) How do I completely remove the files that internet explorer has cached on my harddrive? Sometimes the history folder in the browser does not get entirely erased, where do I find the folder on my HD to remove them? Sometimes I view websites that I do not wish my dad to find out in the history 🙂

2) How do I set all the pictures in my folders to view as icons instead of thumbnails or tiles? I want all the directories to reflect this change.

3) How do I prevent programs from autostarting in my system tray. Is there a special folder where I can do this?

4) Did you install your WinXP on FAT32 or NFTS system? Which is better?

Thanks a lot for your help on any or all the questions above!

1) Tools > Internet Options > Clear History

2) There is some option in right click, There might be something in the folder options to make it do this in all folders, not sure though... but thumbnails should only be in stuff like My Pictures...

3) Start > Run > Msconfig > Startup?,ithink

4) NTFS!!! on both questions

very smart very very smart 😉 you could also go to Internet Options>Delete Cookies and >delete files
when you do that you cover your ass and theres no other way to track your internet history...i think🙂

Delete cookies, history and windows temp stuff does most of it.

What everyone forgets is the blocked cookies list in ie6 if you have cookies set to block (or prompt and then block).

I was looking at this the other night, as I had to set a previously blocked website to cookies enabled in order to get it to run properly. I was shocked to see the amount of porno sites and such that automatically get blocked by ie6. Sure, nobody would normally think to look in there, but they're still in there nonetheless.

Not that I worry about stuff like that....... but unfortunately my girlfriend was an absolute genius at finding stuff I tried to hide in forgotten corners of my hard drive. Or should I say my former girlfriend. Ah well, it was a choice between her and the computer. I'll miss her.
