A couple of issues with my laptop

I'm having a couple of issues with my HP Pavilion tx1000 tablet.

1. The fan seems to be spinning at full power non stop. As soon as I turn the laptop on the fan goes into overdrive, the weird thing is that it doesn't seem to be cooling the laptop since the right side underneath gets really hot. I don't know if there is an issue with overheating or what,

I blew canned air into the exhaust vents to clear out any dust, I wold like to be able to open the chassis and give it a good cleaning or maybe apply some thermal paste to hopefully eliminate this issue. Any ideas?

2. This issue has to do with the laptop powering down. Yesterday I opened the screen to take the computer out of standby mode and the screen would not come on. The fan was running and the power light was on almost indicating that the computer was out of standby but wasn't displaying anything.

I had to restart in order to get the display to work properly. This has happened a few times since then, running all of my spyware/antivirus/sweeps comes up clean. I don't know if this is a display issue or an issue with the computer coming out of standby.

Thanks in advance for any advice/input you can provide. 🙂

2,) In standby the OS is still active, though reduced in capacity. For example, SpeedFan will continue to monitor temperatures in standby and, at the very least, the Os is polling the cover switch, the keyboard and the power button. If any conflict occurs with this polling, the OS crashes and can't wake up. If you have anything plugged into a port you could try removing it, but generally, it's just something you have to live with.

If it's new, you should return it or get it looked at by HP. The heat problem could lead to other issues. Get it looked at while it's over warranty.

The weird part is that sometimes it will hibernate just fine and then while in hibernation almost wake itself up and then the problem occurs.

The laptop is no longer under warranty. Any other options?

well is it hibernate or standby that doesn't restart?
They are two completely different things.

I'm pretty sure it is going into standby. Or at least supposed to be going into standby. Usually when I open the screen the computer comes back on, lately(as described above) this hasn't been happening. For some reason while the computer is in that mode it seems to wake itself up but not come fully out of standby. The screen won't display, I can hear the fan spinning but nothing on the screen.

The extra odd part is when I manually shut down and then turn the laptop back on it sometimes won't work either, the screen will still not display but everything turns on. However I can't do anything such as increase the volume or mute the volume, as if the computer isn't registering the commands.

I hope that this is making sense, I am doing my best to describe it.

Thanks.

Anyone got any ideas? I noticed that the problem with the screen displaying out of standby also happens if I leave the screen open. So whenever it goes into standby I have this problem.

I still haven't been able to find a solution to the screen issue. I have been searching online and found something referencing a problem with a video driver. Could that be the solution?

Does anyone have any other suggestions?
