A Couple of Ideas from Work Today

I work for the V.A. Hospital system & Picked up a couple of ideas today, one form a Surgeon & one form a Lt Cnl:

1.) Sent in a team of Rangers into Afghanistan, execute Osama bin Laden, his top aids & the rest of the camp, and bury the corpses in a remote location-this would avert the spectre of a protracted ground war, and stop the creation of a martyr for the extremist faction in Islam. We wouldn't even claim responsibility for his disappearance.

2.) Modify jetliners so that the crew is behind a locked secure door in the cockpit. If hijacked, the terrorists can kill everyone on the plane or blow it up, but it couldn't be used as a weapon since they couldn't get to the flight crew or the controls of the plane. Frankly the no knife thing is stupid, I can go to a large number of sources & pick up a plastic/ceramic/composite knife, tape it to my calf & get on an airliner tomorrow. We can't keep weapons out of the hands of prisioners on death row, what makes anyone think we can keep them out of airplanes?

#1 is no good, because there's gonna be resistance other than just the terrorists. It'd be hard to differentiate like that, very dangerous.

#2 is no good, because using planes as missles is very rare(never been done before this even), and most hijackings are solved by giving the terrorists what they want. Automatically making everyone in the back of the plane sitting ducks is very heartless.

yeah, #1 sounds good, but if everytime we sacraficed everyone on a plane to a terrorist we'd be screwed.....they wouldn't stop. we should have someone be ont he plane, a trained person...in disguise in a regular seat to take action like this on every flight.....
