I see people selling sub accounts on Ebay for 30 bucks, $30 is about what I'd like to spend. 3 questions though.

I know the sub accounts have a 5gb storage limit, which is fine, but is there a bandwidth limit too? I was thinking about using it to share photos with people and can't find if there's an xfer limit.

Since this would be tied to the master account would I still get a full 12 months of access?

is there any downside to buying an account from somebody I don't know? I'm wondering if they'll still have potential control the account. I would like MobileMe but I don't think a full subscription is really worth it to me.
 
If that's all you're wanting to do with the service, you really should check out SugarSync, or DropBox. Both are wonderful, and give you 2GB for free.

As for buying a sub account, I would HIGHLY recommend AGAINST doing this. They will have full access to your account, which means that if they wanted, they could access your email, files, etc... and you aren't guaranteed that they will keep the account open for the full 12 months. They might be reputable and honest and you will never have an issue, but I just don't trust someone online that much.
 
looks interesting, I actually like the email and the calendar a lot. Sell on Ebay selling the sub accounts has all good feedback (222 total) But I was curious if they would have control over my account even if I changed my password. Seems like they would. Which sort of makes the $30 less appealing, oh well.
 
There's no way I would sign up for a sub account. Not only would I not trust the person, but I'm guessing that if Apple found out somehow (someone could always report them), they could shut down both accounts and you'd be out of $.

Luckily for me, I was able to by MobileMe from ebay last year for about $35, but I see that it sells for a lot more now.
