I left my debit card at a Subway last year. The manager called the credit union on the card (which was in town) instead of calling the 800# on the back. She told the credit union that my card was there. The credit union called me and asked me if I wanted to pick it up from the Subway or if I wanted Subway to mail it to the credit union so I could pick it up.

I picked my card up from Subway. I sent a huge floral bouquet to the manager at Subway in thanks for her appreciation. :)

um...isn't there a number on your debit card or something? i mean they have to have ways of tracking who owns the card...

O.P. I would strongly urge you to consider cancelling that card. It's possible that people other than the police officer have seen the card, granted if this is truly a debit card then the pin is required for transactions which shouldn't be a problem (unless you wrote it on the back).

If the card has a credit feature (a.k.a. check card) a pin is not required and someone can really have some fun with just the card info.

Also Bofa should not be giving customer information out to anyone unless working with the police under special circumstances.

Doesn't matter about the address... for all he knows, you could just keep it for good luck, and have your up-to-date one in a secure combination safe :p

They are actually alloud to call them and request information like that, I thought it had to be crime related, but I guess not.

If you or any family member has any city utilities in your name like water, electric, gas etc... then the local cops already have your new address. Or if you have ever got a ticket or have a home phone in their area cops have your new address. I doubt it was from the debit card, either way I'm happy the cops found your wallet and gave it back to you dude.

your driver's licence has a number. it is a public record. it does not change when you change your address.

The driver's license was outdated. The point the guy is saying is that the cop got his current address from the debit card.

the license may have been outdated, but the ID # is not. Give me your name/dob and I could find your address fairly easily with the whole...you know...national database thing we got going.
