The characterization of the vote as a "power grab" is a sad state of affairs, that's for sure. It's no such thing. It's certainly not the "nuclear option", something Righties are trying desperately to forget their heroes ever threatened.

Dems are playing it by the book, as they should. Like it or lump it, screaming "foul!" when there isn't one never makes the declarer look good.

Repubs somehow carry the notion they've been cheated. And they're right, except that they've cheated themselves, followed false prophets and a philosophy of failure.

You had your chance- to implement a stay at home foreign policy, to exercise fiscal conservatism, to do a lot of things. And when your leadership did exactly the opposite, you cheered 'em on, anyway. Best take a long hard look at yourselves and what you believe- don't be surprised if what you find ain't pretty or smart.

Yeah this is a great summation of everything I hear from the (R). They think they've been cheated, robbed, and that this is somehow now a dictatorship.

They'd be in a much better position if the majority of them didn't blindly agree with everything GWB did just because of the (R) in front of his name. Well...at least they'd have more legitimacy, look less like racists, and wouldn't appear so laughably hypocritical.

Oh, Please. One of the sleaziest tricks in the rightwing playbook is to accuse others of what they've demonstrably been doing themselves. Their current objective is to "Beat Obama!" in any venue over any issue they can.

Dems started this whole healthcare reform from what really is a compromise position, private insurance with a govt option. They've not offered a single payer alternative at any point.

Which Righties, of course, see as weakness, and there's no incentive to compromise with weakness, outcomes being peripheral to the whole idea of winning. They've hopped up on the soapbox of their newfound frugality in a most disingenuous fashion, and are actually believed by their faithful followers. Or have we forgotten so quickly the so-called senior drug benefit and the cost of two ill-conceived and executed occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan? The cost of mission-less coldwar military hardware? Lost revenue from fatcat taxcuts? How about the banking bailout necessitated by their policies of the preceding years?

How about a little self-examination and introspection on the Right? Or is the faith in what you believe so strong that it overrides rationality?

You know, if I were a rightie that might mean something to me. Ask CAD what kind of rightie I was about Iraq, when many on the left were screaming "get Iraq" with the Reps.

You "ists" are all about promoting your party. What I say stands.
