What a Great Day for people who hate self reliance, quality healthcare, low Taxes, small government, tort reform, The Constitution, private sector, profit driven research of cutting edge pharmisuticals, speedy access to healthcare specialists, choice, liberty and the American way for the last 233 years.

Anyway you cut it The Democrats want control of your Body and the environment all around your body. Think about that... Regulate your body... And the entire environment around you. Complete control! YOU NEED THE DEMOCRATS CRADLE TO GRAVE, DAY TO DAY! Unless you're a politician then you are exempt.

Dem Healthcare Reform = Control of your Body through the destruction of private healthcare. Healthcare will be transformed into an upward battle through governmental red tape. Doctors will refuse to accept government healthcare patients as long as they legally can, (Kids on medicaid/S-chip for years have been discriminated against and recieved substandard health care) then some will quit when forced to accept the federal mandate of minimum wage paid for sevices rendered.

Cap and trade = Cap and Tax hold on to your pocket book all energy costs will increase!

Environmetal Reform soon to come = please give us the rest of your liberty please! Also the rest of your take home pay for more energy related inflation!

Any bets on how long it will be untill we have a single payer Nanny-state?
My Guess is by 2020 99% of all Americans will be covered by the other 35-39% of the Federal Taxpayers left. Our Deficit will be nearing 30trillion. Government coffers will be at modern day all time lows due to the widespread corruption, shockingly shrinking tax base and the sheer size of running our government. Think Nanny States are productive? Our GDP is heading to the crapper as well. U.S. Dollar? It's FOOKED. Everthing connected to the dollar? It's Fooked too! Sorry China you're Fooked too!

Let's be honest. If they voted to let it be debated upon who will change their vote on healthcare "Reform"? More might threaten to but they will be PAID OFF just like the distinguished gentlelady from LA.

I stand with real reform. Let people but insurance from other states. Most states have a handful of insurance companies in thier states with a few dominating the entire state.

The Dems "Healthcare Reform" is not reform. It is a thinly veiled takeover. Many Dems will even openly admit this is a road to a single payer system. And that they are glad it is.

Why don't you bring some facts or at least opinions that have a base of fact.

I just laughed because you think Democrats want to control someones body. Cap and Trade is an attempt at environmental reform using free-market principles. You would be able to buy/sell your "pollution" allotments. That means that companies that use less pollution would be able to sell there excess allotments, leading to a cash incentive to be more eco-friendly.

The facts would be that the health care reform bill does include a national exchange that allows individuals to purchase insurance across state lines.

I imagine there are three things that cause Exman not to like the health bill despite knowing that fact:
1. To participate on the exchange insurance companies must conform to minimum requirements are established by the government.
2. He doesn't like other parts of the bill, most likely the subsidies or tax increases on wealthy Americans.
3. He thinks the public option is a backdoor way to single payer, but doesn't know that the way it is structured makes it unlikely to do that.

There is plenty of hate on both sides of the aisle, especially on this forum. Just go read a few posts by xJohnx, Spidey, or Fear No Evil and you will find your daily dose of Conservative hate. PJABBER usually enlightens us with a column from an ultra libertarian but his comments suggest a disdain for liberals. I seriously mean no disrespect to these individuals, they are free to post anything they want, but it contributes to the atmosphere this forum has.

I don't think we give our side of the aisle any credit in arguments when we result to bullying tactics, fear, propaganda, ect. All Conservatives are not fear mongering warhawkish bible thumping rednecks. All liberals are not America hating, god hating, communist socialist pacifistic academic pussies. Did I leave anything out?

The saddest thing is that most of us can't even respect the other sides arguments anymore. We just attack or belittle (as I did earlier) and stop respecting each other. I used to think it was only on the internet, but after seeing the vitriol of town hall meetings this past summer I think we have something far more sinister afoot.

If you want to have a discussion about "Progressive" policies, than I'm all ears (eyes?). If you want to talk facts, present facts and we'll discuss them. If you just want to talk opinion, that's fine too. But don't try to cloak opinion as facts and expect it to slide.

Maybe, but you are underestimating the power that ignorance can have on a debate. Or how dismissing a person who disagrees with your views as "insert favorite label here" is a great way to end up being in a permanent minority.

This was a pretty darn good attempt at a civil response that I have seen in awhile. Thanks for even making an attempt! Where you go off track is that I want to have a discussion about progressive policies. I was trying to give the other side a VIEW inside what a conservative thinks of this vote last night and what the future could hold for America. That is all. I started this thread for that reason. If you'd like to ask where I came to those Views or opinions great. But why is it that when the a Liberal in this and countless other threads who actually express their opinions as fact when I am not even doing that by any stretch of the imagination isn't held to the same regard as you are holding me to. Especially since I have called it my VIEW from the begining.

Hell I called out the Crazy right in the acorn thread. By using facts. Those facts also rebuffed many libs attempts at blowing the problem off as well. I give you millions of reasons to why Acorn should not be blown off. The millions of dollars wasted by the taxpayers on them. Also there are some in Congress still trying to find them a loophole to continue funding them even though they have been banned from recieving government monies.

I like facts. Problem is SPIN and trying to find actual facts from unbiased sources. Don't you agree? I like Ideas too. But as an Independant Conservative, which is a quickly growing demographic after Republicans keep trying to become a "Lite" version of the Democratic party, truely original Ideas based on real facts from either Party is almost impossible.

As you point out attacking or belittling really isn't doing much. I'm getting the attacking group of people you usually see but As I can count a total of Zero people have asked that one civil question?

No, the smart people in this country know that single payer is the only way to go, it has been proven by indisputable facts worldwide.

This bill isn't perfect, but because of idiotic ultra-right (as judged by the world scale) congress people we have to use this to pave the way to the only working system in the world, a single payer system.

You idiots have chased away real debate because none of us are interested in restating the facts for the umpteenth time.
