A co-worker of mine was killed last night in a car accident

So what is the first thing my supervisor does? Starts to empty his cubicle...The worst thing is its right next to my cubicle, so I have to hear him going through all his stuff. You think he could have waited until emotions died down around here...god I hate him. I'm so angry.

What's wrong with emptying the guys cube? Maybe there is stuff there that shouldn't be seen by other people, so they are just taking care of things.

They probably locked his network account too... don't tell me that's wrong.

Pretty much just a peon like me. This isn't a big place..in my department there are just 9 people.

It just seems too premature to be doing anything like that. He died last night.

And they didn't lock his network account. That is my job, and I haven't done it yet.

Ok, so they are probably following standard operating procedure.

You can feel emotion, a business cannot.

sometimes you never know why people do things.

I don't believe there is an SOP for this. His position probably won't be available for another few weeks.

Oh..and my supervisor is NOTORIOUS for going through peoples stuff during off hours, this is probably a goldmine to him now..look through his stuff with no reprocussions.

Ah well, it wouldn't bother me.

I bet he's digging up dirt so he can fire the guy.

Yea man, he has a cube waiting for him in heaven.

Rather than completely admonishing the man, why not consider that maybe he was asked by family members to do so? Perhaps he was trying to do what he felt was right by gathering his things for his family? Maybe he didn't want others seeing his things left alone to constantly remind them of this tragedy?

Seriously, not everything a pointy-hair does is insidious in nature.
