It has an LD50 of 0.03mg/kg in monkeys. :Q

Yea, exactly. The reason it is so more more potent is the speed at which it is metabolized/absorbed. The Fentanyl hits you almost instantaneously, much faster than morphine. Now imagine freebasing the gel out of the dermal patch using foil and a straw.

He didn't have time to reach the phone right after the hit.

Accidental overdose. Not an accidental freebase.

As far as any of us know, he did not intend to commit suicide by purposefully overdosing.

your a moron.

Your critical thinking skills are about as good as your debate skills.

Sorry to hijack your thread OP, and sorry about the loss. Those 'scrips really are a bitch though.

This is an excerpt from a how-to freebase fentanyl thread, easily found with a Google search:

No matter what you decide to do, keep these harm reduction tips in mind. It's easy to fall out before you can even say "fuck" and just die of OD with fentanyl. You've gotta exercise even more caution than usual with fentanyl than other opiates.

These people treat it like a game. The fact that you can die is an afterthought.

Tell us something about your friend that he would have wanted the world to know about. Tell us something that he was proud of.

He was a brilliant writer and orator. He was just plain brilliant. The Plan II program at UT is the leading program for such aspirations, and is a model for programs at Ivy League universities. He thrived in the program, and could write literary masterpieces in his sleep.

He was a friend that I could man hug and feel okay about it. A friend that would make light of any situation. A friend that I believed I would stay close to and in contact with far beyond graduation.

Well, I regret not having met him. Our loss.

SIGH.. it breaks my heart to know that good people of such promise and talent are taken away too young. I'm truly sorry for your loss safeway. At least know that he got to know a good friend in you, and you at least got to share a blip of his life with us.

It seems so real now -- now that I know the details of his death.

It was so easy to say, "Oh, he accidentally overdosed. We wanted to live." It sounds so impersonal. Knowing that his addiction became his life, knowing that he was abusing a substance 100 times stronger than morphine, knowing that he disregarded the extreme risk of death with each high. It brings it full circle. It is extremely intimate and personal.

:( Very very sorry to hear about your loss. I'm afraid there is little that anyone of us could say that would not sound clichéd and perhaps even cold and detached in the light of such a personal loss. Which just goes to show the inadequacy of human communications sometimes. But still for what it's worth our thoughts are with you.

Sounds like he had some very tough obstacles in his life, and for the most part was productive, but they eventually overcame his ability to take care of himself.

Its easy to say it's his fault, he was an addict, but no one knows what it was like to walk in his shoes from the beginning, and its just very unfortunate that it led to this.

Edit: I lost my best friend at the age of 12 to cancer. It's crazy to think of how much life he had left to live. Any loss is sad, but to lose someone so young is even moreso.
