I have a Macitosh powerbook G3 laptop which is crashing constantly. I have tried reinstalling the OS 9.1 thrice, once normally and twice with a clean install neighter fixed the problems. This stupid thing crashes running realplayer, office, the mp3 player, everything. So ala windows I assume a formating of the drive will fix these problems, am I right? If I am can I do this with a Mac OS 9.1 cd or do I need to get an older version to start of the install. I am a little out of my depth with mac right now and I dont want to start this without all the software I am going to need.
Thanks for your help guys.

What you have to do in select the OS 9.1 CD as the startup disk and boot into that. There is a hard drive formatting tool on the cd that you use (actually they call it intializing the disk). Once you do that, you can install OS.

Hold down the "C" key to boot from the CD (if the CD is bootable).
