I still think they would have been better off to play "Flight of the Valkyries" for this video.

In fact try turning down the video volume and play Flight to see what I mean.

It is the way nature balance itself out. But watching it, I feel really sad for the colony. :(

And I love the sound of the giant "Mechwarrior" hornet when it's stomping around somewhere in the middle of the video.

Wow, amazing camera work. I'd be scared sh!tless to film that even if I had the most protective suit there is.

That's why I titled it, "A Classic". Anyone with an internet connection that hasn't been under a rock for the past year has seen this video. I just thought it deserved to be posted again.

yea dude, ever since I got stung inside my ear when I was like 4, and then got attacked by a swarm of wasps at 5, I've had kinda a phobia against bees...

That would make a great video game... Bees vs. Hornets... or, a civ style game where you have to manage the colony and fend off the hornets...

awesome. but a little sick. :)

I saw the entire program on National geographic.
fortunately there is a species of bees which has figured out how to beat the hornets.
the japanese honey bee.

When the scout enters the honey colony, the japanese honey bees swarm it, but instead of stinging, they raise their temperature, which kills the hornet. Japanese bees can survive 5-6 degrees higher heat than it takes to kill the giant hornet.
