About 3 weeks ago my IP35 vanilla crapped out on me so I RMAed it. I also had to pay a $20 labor fee cause the stupid SATA connectors came off when I was unplugging my hard drives. -_-

Now I get an email from Abit telling me it's "beyond repair" and they can't get me another IP35, so I've been presented with 3 other choices. Here's the body of this email with the choices:

This is to notify you that the product you turned in under the above RMA number is beyond repair and a direct replacement is currently unavailable or no longer available. Therefore, in order for us to complete your request, you will need to choose a replacement from the following list:
**** PLEASE SELECT ONLY ONE SELECTION FROM THE LIST ****


[ ] FP-IN9 SLI
[ ] I-45CV
[ ] IP35V

Strangely, 2 out of 3 choices on there are also discontinued. I'm thinking of going with the Fatality but somehow I feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick here no matter which I choose. =/ The IP35V seems like a crappier version of the IP35-E. What say you AT?

 
You are right. Abit is probably getting out of the board business in the next 12 months. I'd go for the IP35v if you don't need onboard video.

subpar by quite a margin. IP35 > IP35E > IP35V.
 
Those options are terrible:
] FP-IN9 SLI - 650i Chipset. Owned one and ended up returing for coil whine on load.
[ ] I-45CV - 945 Chipset
[ ] IP35V - As others mentioned a lesser verision of the one you have.
 
The FP-IN9 SLI looked fairly attractive until I read about it being crappy for OCing and it didn't have the CMOS switch to make up for its drawbacks. =/

I just replied asking for a IP35 Pro or IP35P, which from what I've read seems like an updated IP35-E. I also thought about asking them for an IP35 Pro XE but I don't think that would happen. XD
