A choice between Leadtek A280le and a ATI FireGL 8800

I currently have a Leadtek Winfast A280 le THD (Ti4200). I have the option to purchase a ATI FireGL 8800 from a friend for $50.00. I do a lot of 3D animation in Softimage and in Maya. I tried looking for some reviews but didn't see much on the 8800, so I dont know if it would it be worth upgrading my current A280 or not.

The FireGL is a workstation OpenGL card, so it could give you a boost in Maya and other OpenGL stuff. Don't try playing any games on that sucker though. What core is it based on (I'm guessing 8500)? That should tell you some about the performance.
