i need a cheap good scanner, smth like 1200*600 optical, as thin as possible. quality, speed and low noise level is also apreciated.
any sugestions?

edit:
10x all for suggestions, but as i explained in my reply, i dont have as much choise as the US customer has, and the prices here are much higher. i bought HP ScanJet 3400c, which is a USB/parallel. i use USB happily. its nice, not too good, and wasnt cheap (100$) but thats what we had here (there was a Umax too, but more pricey)

Just get a Umax, cheap and outstanding output quality. I have the 1220 and I would recommend anythign after that to anyone.

Thin as possible? The Canon CanoScan 650U. 1200 x 600 DPI. You'll be shocked at how thin it is.

Well I just bought the Microtek Scanmaker C3 (I think) for $19.95 from Insightdirect. I love the microteks and this is the third one I have owned. Its super slim, about one and a half inches tall.

What about the Acer 620? I can buy it for $95 Canadian. Good deal?

well i got the HP3400c for about 100$. its nice, but not very goot software support, not thin, and definetly not speedy. thats because the prices here are very high, much higher than in the US.

Don't forget to consider the interface, stay away from paralell port. USB is probably best, and I've been pretty happy with my SCSI (although attaching it to my good scsi card makes my CDROM drives misbehaves -- hence why I think USB may be better).

The Epson Perfection got some very good ratings, I have the 610, and I like it...
