There are some games that are pretty fishy. HAWX2 stinks like a rotting shark. Sure, it still runs fine on AMD cards. Sure helps to skew those "overall performance charts" towards nVidia cards though.

I don't think the OP is being paranoid. I think it goes on. It's sad that nobody who can do anything about it speaks out. I don't know why reviewers use these outlier games for comparative benching? What's the point of running a bench that is obviously skewed, one way or the other.

As far as boycotting goes, you don't need a hard boycott for it to be effective. Just don't pre-order a title and wait til the 2nd week of release B4 you buy it. Done right, that will cause enough of a panic to make people pay attention. Good luck getting it organized though. People just don't give a sh!t, unfortunately.

I can point out obvious other past driver troubles.
A user could have had 2 gtx 295's for quad sli and benched slower than a 5870 in Dirt 2. When the game launched.
In fact there are videos of this on yourtube with people boasting about pawnage. The game did not support sli at first , so the game was running off 1 of the 4 gpu's in a monster Nvidia system.
Intel plots against AMD as well according to some. lol

Obviously, I think it's plainly easy to see that there is something wrong with the idea of TWIMTBP type programs. It's *potentially fragmenting an already weakened game economy, and *possibly harming a significant amount of PC gamers. It just isn't good for the future of the PC game habitat.

Whether or not Nvidia ever actually gets involved in game code (and I wouldn't trust a single typed word to come out of Nvidia PR), is besides the point. It just sets a bad precedent.

Boycotting won't really work though --- the publishers will just claim the lost sales were from piracy anyway.

You have a long way to go before you'll be able to convince people to boycott NVIDIA because you can't explain benchmark results.

Maybe YOU can explain them, I have posted the results. Please DO tell us which specifications of the GTX 460/768 are better than those of the HD 5970/6970. Memory. tesselation, bandwidth, clock, speed, whatever.

Go ahead, explain the benchmark I posted. Go into details, don't be shy.

higher self: You must resist Nvidia games ... they are evil!
lower self: I must try ... but I just cannot, they are ... just so decadently delicious to my mind ...

Well, I have finally decided to call them out. I did it in here, next is Tom's and so on. People have been calling out Creative and for good reason I think. You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time

And the tubes still belong to us, we need to follow our interests. I'm not an AMD fan even if I tend to support anything open source though. Like their 3D technology and not only. Open source is in our best interest and nobody can deny that.

Funny but the bench clearly shows the crippling of the AMD cards. Just look at it and explain the results. If you can.

How about just getting a Nvidia card and get the best performance possible if it bothers you that much.

I own an ATI card and will now purchase two TWIMTBP games, just because of this thread.

Thanks OP!

Is that game CPU limited? No, it's not. Is that game GPU limited? No, it's not. You can't explain a GX 460/768 being better than a HD 5870. You can't explain a GTX 560 being better than a HD 5970, that's ludicrous.

Come on, we're smarter than that no matter what the Nvidia shills are posting.

LMAO - Well actually we can, some games are shader heavy which is where memory bandwidth of AMD excel, and some a re Tessellation heavy where the NV cards excel.

These GPU use different processors to run the code, they are not created the same. It stands to reason they will perform differently!

Are you actually being serious?

The problem, in the OP's mind, and I agree in principle, is that it's unfair business practices. It's only video cards so nobody really cares. Suppose it was brakes on a car that an automaker helped design and in the end they were just "better optimized" for their cars? An extreme and unlikely example, I know, but the point is we shouldn't accept that behavior simply because one company paid their money during the designing of the game. It's anti consumer. Which, in case you don't know, the majority of us here are consumers.

Surely you aren't that blind to the consequences of what you suggest?

Go ahead, answer it. I made my account in here only because I heard that this site/forum is Intel/Nvidia biased and from viewing their reviews/benches. And it is.

Are you Robin Hood of AMD forest ? I noticed you were upset over people upgrading to Sandy Bridge in the cpu section.
Its funner to pursue things you enjoy than looking for a 'fight' or crusade.

Likewise. Please explain what NV did to cripple AMD results... Don't be shy... details... details... details...

YOU are the one calling for the boycott, the burden of proof is on YOU.
