so i'm at work this morning, when i get a call from (877) 577-0877.. and this lady's like, "hi i'm blah blah from A+.net something something, we were just wondering what u were going to do with your domain thisboresme.com (which i had just registered like this past weekend)". so i say, "um, i dunno.." and she asks if it's a personal website, and i say yeah. and then she says well check out aplus.net blahblahblah.

has this ever happened to any of u? i thought it was pretty weird. i mean, i had just registered it like.. 3 or 4 days ago. am i in trouble? thisboresme.com just points to my blog thing. or are they just spamming me? and if they're just spamming me, aren't they violating the do-not-call thing?

likely they are just soliciting you.

If you have had any business transaction with them in like the past 6mos (?) they are not affected by the DNC list. You can, however, request that they do not call you again and they legally have to comply. It's possible that the parent company that you registered your domain with owns aplus.net or something wacky like that.

I got a call from them a while back when I registered a few domains with them. They're probably just doing some random customer survey or something. If you're an actual paying customer, they do have a legal right to contact you, I should think.
