I am currently working and my job is secure, but kind of boring.

I got a voicemail and an email today from out of nowhere. A position is open at this company and they want to talk to me.
This new position doesn't sound much different in what I would be doing in my day to day activities. The new company has slightly better name recognition overall.
The opportunities within the company are very similar

I've only been with my current company for a year and I intended to stick around until promotion at least. I don't want to look like I'm a job hopper, but I'm also interested in how much pay increase I can negotiate. Is it worth the jump?
I haven't gotten back to them yet.

I don't know if it's worth it. You can certainly look into it, but:

- Current job is boring, new job = similar work? Meh.
- You have a year of experience at your current job. A new job would reset that (at least for the purposes of promotions).
- Job security is better at your current job.

It just seems like there are too many potential problems and not enough potential benefits.
