Doesen't make sense - the colder the outside air, the easier/better/more efficient the condensor/evaporator would be...

My A/Cs have a tendency to freeze up at night. I live in the Northeast, the high humidity and lowering temps cause ice to form on the radiator, which stops the air from moving through. This happens with two A/Cs I own, during the day they run perfectly fine since the ice never forms.
the colder temps at night are the cause for this to happen.
i get the same problems on my printroom a/c when i get print jobs requiring 24 hour operation.
one thing you can do to help prevent this is to have the a/c cycle. (not always blowing cold air) and to set the temp for the a/c to a higher temp at night than at day as the coolr night air helps the a/c to freeze up.

I wish my A/Cs were fancy enough to cycle or have seperate temp ranges for different times of the day![]()
