a/c compressor left sitting

any problems with leaving an a/c compressor sitting on a shelf, and the a/c system discharged for 6 months at a time?

Moisture + compressor = BAD

otherwise, it should be ok. there's normally some oil in the refrigerant that circulates through the compressor and a drying element (usually some sort of silica)

At the very least you'll need to replace the drier/receiver. Uhm, prolly want to re-oil the compressor. The bigger issue is did any dirt/etc get into the lines and such.
